In the summer of 1962 the dream became a reality when the 160 acre site the Clio Country Club is situated on was purchased from Ora Selby. The membership provided personal time and energy during the development and building of the project. This included laying water lines, leveling and smoothing ground surfaces, seeding fairways tees and greens, and removing brush and trees.
The course opened in 1963 for play. The course is currently a par 72 (18 hole layout) with a slope rating of 135. The pride of membership is on display in all facets of the operation. This includes the immaculate tees, greens, fairways, extensive flower beds, and trees. Each hole is defined by a beautiful stone marker at the tee. The new club house (built in 2003) is spacious and well appointed with excellent dining accommodations, and a separate bar area. Our excellent on site chef provides meals that can be ordered in either the dining room or the bar.
